Retreat Dharma Talks at Insight Meditation Community of Washington DC

Opening Our Hearts to Ourselves and the World

This silent retreat will focus on cultivating the quality of loving kindness (metta in Pali), infusing our hearts, minds and bodies with a strong caring wisdom. We will tenderly explore our capacity to create, endure, overcome, and transform suffering through practices of loving-kindness and awareness. Loving-kindness practices open the heart, allow a kind embrace of ourselves, and connect us intimately with all of life. The fusion of mindfulness and loving-kindness helps us to respond more compassionately to the challenges that we encounter in ourselves and in the world.

On this retreat loving-kindness practices will be supported by periods of guided instruction, talks, mindful movement, and walking meditation.
